BFR's 6 Pillars
1.EDUCATION
Education is a key of development, without quality education there is no best future life. We decided to invest in education just to make sure our children are getting skilled. We pay School fees for our children, as well as pay for other associated school costs such as books, transportation, extra tutoring, uniforms, school bags and supplies,… We every term plan education week where we visit all kids at school in order to encourage them, solve problems they have, verify their attendance, discuss with teachers on how children can increase their marks,…
2. SOCIAL WELFARE
We visit all children at home just to ensure that they are in good health and safe, We also provide clothes and shoes to them. The children gather weekly to share milk, eggs and snacks, here they are also disciplined , their talents nurtured and they are taught civics and the Bible. We also provide food for our families and provide extra nutrition for our children with health conditions,… We run saving groups to support the caregivers of our children to save. We also support our caregivers to work towards self sustainability and building family capacity by supporting their small businesses.
3. HEALTH CARE
Every year our children get health insurances and any extra health costs. We partner with clinics and hospitals for treating our children, we also provide toothpaste and hygiene materials. Above all we provide preventive health education. We help many of our families to access clean water in their homes. We also provide tap and tanks in the communities that we support.
4. DISCIPLESHIP
Even if BFR is not basing or belonging in churches but we are believers, we believe in Jesus that he is our King and Savior and that whoever believes him will get eternal life. We also believe in James 1:27 that the True religion is the one caring for orphans and widows in their distress We hope that God is able to change lives of everyone and especially for our children and their families. Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven". As Jesus opened the doors for them, BFR decided to accompany them in this journey and preach them gospel.
5. CIVIC EDUCATION
As our country passed in different struggles from many years ago, we have seen that bad citizens are the ones who destroyed it but other Rwandan rebuilt it and now our country is safe and developed with big dreams and long term vision. That’s why from the childhood, a child must learn how to love and work for his country (Patriotism), build it instead of destroying. We decided to teach them civic education just because we want them to become future good citizens who will strive for their country and fight for it where possible.
6. TALENT DEVELOPMENT
All over the world we have seen that talent changes lives, We believe that discovering the talent of our children and develop them may create new opportunities in their future, that’s why BFR decided to discover and develop their talents.
